The CAC presents trainings on a multi-disciplinary approach to working with Drug Endangered Children (DEC)

Registration Fees:
• $5 for attendance at Tier 1 only • $15 for attendance at Tier 1 & Tier 2 (lunch included)

Tier 1: Core DEC Awareness – Identifying Drug Endangered Children: A Collaborative Approach 9-11:30am
Who Should Attend: Child Welfare, Law Enforcement, District Attorneys, Probation/Parole, Treatment, Ongoing Service Providers, Education, Fire, EMS, Judges, Community members, and other First Responders who have a job which impacts children and families. Gain awareness about drug endangered children and the risks they face and understand the many opportunities (often missed) to identify children living in dangerous drug environments. Learn the benefits of intervention at the earliest possible point to reduce physical and psychological harm to children. Learn what a multidisciplinary collaborative response looks like and how it incorporates the unique resources within a community and applies them in a manner that provides better care for drug endangered children.

Tier 2: The DEC Approach “Moving from Awareness to Action (Tier 1 is a prerequisite for Tier 2 12:30-4:30pm
Who Should Attend: Child Welfare, Law Enforcement, District Attorneys, Probation/Parole, Treatment, Ongoing Service Providers, Education, Fire, EMS, Judges, Community members, and other First Responders who have a job which impacts children and families. Gain insight about our collaborative partners to decrease frustrations when utilizing the DEC Approach. Understand how utilizing collaboration leads to more informed decisions and increased likelihood of better outcomes on behalf of drug endangered children and their families. Be able to implement changes in identification of children, mandatory reporting, and evidence and information collection in our respective practices on behalf of drug endangered children.
