Hearts and Hands Walk/5K Run for Autism @ Francis Farm
Sep 22 @ 9:30 am – 10:30 am

The 15th annual Hearts and Hands Walk/5K Run for Autism & Family Fun Day will be held on September 22, 2018 at the beautiful Francis Farm in Rehoboth, MA. This event is the signature fundraiser for Community Autism Resources (CAR). We are a 501C-3 nonprofit agency and we provide a variety of vital services, at NO cost, to over 3000 families whose children and adult sons/daughters have an Autism Spectrum Disorder. We have been providing these services and supports for 25 years! Our families live in the 82 cities and towns in Southeastern MA, including the Cape and Islands, which comprise our service area. When you participate in the Hearts & Hands Walk/5K for Autism, you can rest assured all of the money raised stays local and will help make the lives of people on the Autism Spectrum better!

According to estimates from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network (ADDM), about 1 in 59 children have been identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). ASD is reported to occur in all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups. ASD is estimated 4 times more common among boys, than among girls. The valuable input we receive from adults with ASD, families and professionals sustains our continued focus on assisting and educating families and professionals so that they can better meet the needs of persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This includes helping families as they face the daily challenges that ASD brings and to connect people with the community resources they may find beneficial.
